Recycled Sculpture Contest

Using locally sourced recycled materials, create a sculpture around the theme. Our goal is to promote sustainable habits and to reduce the amount of recyclable materials that end up in our landfills.

  • SUBMISSION INSTRUCTIONS: Sculpture entries shall be brought to Lookout Point between 9:30 a.m. and 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, April 18, 2026.

echofy POETRY FOR THE PLANET

Illustrated Poem Contest

The Portneuf Valley Environmental Fair and ISU Chemistry Club are sponsoring an illustrated poem contest for students in Kindergarten through 12th grade. Entries will be accepted in English, Spanish, Shoshone, Bannock, and braille.

  • AGES: K–12
  • THEME: Into the Woods with Chemistry
  • PRIZES: Local prizes to be announced soon! Winners will also advance to the National Illustrated Poetry Contest for a chance to be featured on the American Chemical Society website and win additional prizes!

  • SUBMISSION DEADLINE AND INSTRUCTIONS: Friday, April 10, at 5:00 PM. Please bring poems and entry forms to Pocatello City Hall, located at 911 N 7th Ave, and drop them off in the lobby in a basket clearly labelled "Illustrated Poetry Contest." You can also submit them by emailing them to bolson@pocatello.gov. Please make sure the student's name is on their artwork and all entry forms have been submitted!
