E-WASTE RECYCLING
Pocatello Centennial Rotary Club has partnered with Redwood Materials and will be collecting and recycling lithium-ion batteries and rechargeable devices that you’ve been holding onto in your junk drawers! Bring your discarded batteries and devices to the Pocatello Environmental Fair including:
- Cell phones, laptops, tablets
- Cordless power tool batteries
- Electric toothbrushes
- Electric lawn mower batteries
- Wireless headphones
- Wireless speakers or batteries from virtual assistant devices
- Car key-fob batteries
- Video game controllers
- Rechargeable vacuum cleaner, hearing aid, baby monitor batteries
- Any other rechargeable device with a lithium-ion battery (Li-ion)
Smart phones, laptops and electric vehicles are all powered by lithium-ion batteries and we can recover more than 95% of the metals from old, end-of-life products and significantly decrease the US' reliance on newly mined materials and overseas supply chains. However, today, few pathways exist to get these old products recycled responsibly resulting in a national recycling rate of about 5%. Redwood Materials is on a mission to collect as many of these old products as possible to sustainably recycle, refine, and remanufacture these batteries here in America.
Come recycle with us at the Environmental Fair!!
